THE CHALLENGE

Pebl wanted to bring together its Europe and US teams for dedicated team days, for moments of connection, development, and strategic reflection.

As part of this, Pebl aimed to create a focused and energising AI learning experience: one that was hands-on, team-driven, and accessible to different comfort levels with technology.

The goals were to:

  • Build collective confidence and capability around AI tools and the journey to agent design.
  • Connect people through a shared challenge.
  • Spark meaningful conversations about the ethical, strategic, and human dimensions of AI in the business.
  • Learn through doing via practical experimentation and collaborative reflection.

THE APPROACH

To support Pebl’s ambition to build AI confidence and capability, Hyper Island designed a one-day, in-person learning experience tailored to their team days in Europe and the US.

The session combined inspiration, hands-on experimentation, and reflection. Teams explored how generative AI could support their work by designing simple, no-code custom GPTs based on real use cases. Along the way, they discussed the ethical and human dimensions of AI, and how to balance efficiency with thoughtful implementation.

The format created space for collaboration, creativity, and practical learning, all anchored in Pebl’s real-world challenges and culture.

RESULTS & IMPACT

  • The session revealed both strong momentum and allowed for debate around tensions on AI adoption within Pebl. There was clear leadership energy and a strong appetite for experimentation, alongside with a need to do so thoughtfully and with structure.

  • Teams identified where AI is already adding value, especially in admin tasks, operational efficiency and aggregating data.

  • Across the board, there was a strong focus on ethical use such as: bias, privacy, and over-reliance. The session sparked new ideas, practical prototypes, and important conversations - laying the groundwork for deeper, strategic use of AI across the organisation.

"This training was the best investment we’ve ever made - and I’ve invested in a lot of L&D over the years… You don’t often get the momentum or real world application we’ve seen in the weeks since the session." - Hanna Wrelton, Chief People and Agentic Officer
