Hyper Island and The Non-Violence Project Foundation (NVPF) are entering a long-term partnership with the goal of engaging, educating, and empowering young people to take a stand for non-violence. The collaboration combines creativity, education, and communication to spark awareness, inspire action, and drive real change.

Innovation Week as the starting point

The partnership officially kicked off during Hyper Island’s annual Innovation Week, held August 18–22. During the week, all first-year students across Hyper Island’s programs – around 300 in total – worked in cross-disciplinary teams to develop creative communication concepts for NVPF.

Their mission: to inspire and engage young people around the world in the foundation’s educational initiatives.

The result: 36 campaign concepts were developed, and several are now being refined for use in NVPF’s global work, with the first launch planned for this autumn.

“At Hyper Island, we believe that creativity is one of the strongest forces for change. Through this collaboration with The Non-Violence Project Foundation, our students have the opportunity to channel their ideas and energy into something bigger than themselves – a global mission for non-violence. This is not only about creating concepts, it is about showing the next generation of leaders how creativity can drive real change in the world,” says Heidi Rundt, CEO of Hyper Island.

From insight to impact in four days

Collaboration with external partners is a core part of Hyper Island’s learning approach. Students get to take on real-world challenges while organisations gain new perspectives, ideas, and the opportunity to connect with emerging talent.

“The collaboration with Hyper Island and their Innovation Week was everything we hoped for. The students delivered a thorough analysis and a high level of creative quality, truly impressive results in such a short time,” says Rolf Skjöldebrand, Co-Founder & Member of the Board, The Non-Violence Project Foundation.

Holy Comms supports external communication

To ensure the outcomes of Innovation Week and the broader collaboration reach the right audiences, the communications agency Holy Comms is leading external communication efforts for the project.

“For many of us, the revolver with the knotted barrel was the first symbol showing that violence and conflict exist, but also that there is courage in choosing a non-violent path. In today’s world, that message feels more relevant than ever. At Holy Comms, we’re proud to support this collaboration between Hyper Island and The Non-Violence Project Foundation, together with their fantastic students. When The Non-Violence Project wins, we all win,” says Lisa Kruse, Founder of Holy Comms.

A long-term partnership

This partnership marks the beginning of a multi-year collaboration between Hyper Island and The Non-Violence Project Foundation. Together, they aim to inspire a future where the next generation grows up with zero tolerance for violence – a future built on respect, empathy, and non-violence.
