What documents need to be submitted? expand_more expand_less

Below is the list of documents required to apply for Hyper Island Upskill courses.

CV in English or Swedish
Proof of your highest earned education (High School, Bachelor, or Master's Degree.)
Proof of 2 years of relevant working experience (The proof can be agreements, recommendation letters, your first and last payslips, etc.)
Upskill Application Task: Send a response to the application task explained in the tab below
Proof of language knowledge: Anyone whose native language is not Swedish, Danish, Faroese, Icelandic, or Norwegian must have the necessary knowledge of Swedish. You will be asked to upload proof that you meet the language requirements, read more on the general entry requirements.

Please ensure that your full name is clearly visible on all documents you're submitting in your application. Please note that we do not accept any applications past the deadline.

What if I do not fulfil the standard entry requirements?

You are welcome to apply even if you don't fulfil our standard entry requirements, you can still be admitted through our Dispensary seat rule.

Application Task: “Understanding a Sustainability Challenge”

Sustainability challenges, whether environmental, social, or organisational are complex and interconnected. Effective change leadership begins with understanding the systems involved, identifying leverage points, and recognising the human and organisational dynamics that shape transformation.

In 250 words or less, describe:

A sustainability challenge or opportunity you want to explore (e.g., “How can organisations reduce supply-chain emissions?” or “How could stronger internal communication support sustainability initiatives?”).

How you would begin to understand or analyse this challenge, referring to tools, frameworks, or approaches you think might help (e.g., systems thinking, SDGs, life cycle analysis, stakeholder mapping, organisational impact analysis).

What meaningful change or insight you would hope to generate, such as strategic improvements, behavioural shifts, risk reduction, stronger alignment with values, or more effective communication.

You do not need to provide a full solution; focus on how you would approach the challenge as a sustainability change leader.

Use of AI

You are welcome to use AI tools as long as you follow these two principles:

Acknowledge your use of AI. Be transparent. If you used AI at any point, note briefly where and how.
Explain your own added value. What did you change, critique, or add? How did you shape the idea beyond the AI-generated suggestions?

Evaluation Criteria (3 points each — 12 points total)

Relevance & Clarity of the Sustainability Challenge - Is the challenge clear, meaningful, and connected to sustainability or organisational change?
Use of Tools & Frameworks - Do you identify logical and relevant approaches for understanding the challenge (e.g., sustainability frameworks, strategic planning methods, organisational analysis)?
Applied Insight - Do you connect your approach to potential impacts, decisions, or pathways for change (e.g., strategy development, systems thinking, communication, risk/opportunity analysis)?
Clarity of Communication - Is the response structured, concise, and easy to understand?
