Lessons are not mandatory, but we recommend attending them to get the most out of the course. This is where discussions and exchanges between the course leader and fellow students take place.
Lessons are not recorded, so they cannot be accessed afterward if you do not attend live. We schedule all workshops and supervision sessions outside of working hours to make it easier for you to participate.
In an increasingly AI-driven and digital world, Hyper Island offers a truly unique live and interactive learning experience. We encourage you to make the most of it.
At Hyper Island, we do not record our lessons, as our pedagogy is built around active participation, human interaction, and collaborative learning.
Much of the learning happens through conversation, reflection, exercises, and the interactions that emerge between participants in the room. When you are present, contributing, listening, and experimenting together with others, you learn far more than by watching recorded material afterward.
Our methodology is therefore designed to create a safe and engaging learning environment where students are active participants rather than passive observers.
You are allowed to apply for and participate in more than one course at the same time, but it is not recommended, as many of our courses have scheduled lessons that take place simultaneously. You also need to ensure that you have enough time available, as each course corresponds to approximately 20 hours of study per week.
When studying remotely, all course activities are adapted to be completed digitally. Here are the most common ways we assess students:
* Individual assignments: All courses include written assignments that you submit through our learning platform.
* Digital presentations: Oral presentations are conducted digitally, usually live, where you present in real time to course leaders and fellow students.
Yes, provided that you successfully complete all parts of the course, you will receive a certificate of completion.
You verify your work experience by submitting your CV in a PDF format and the amount of years of experience in the application process. Please make sure to include the start and end dates, job title, job description, and scope of employment for each position.
If, for example, you are unable to provide your upper secondary school grades, you may still be eligible through prior learning assessment (reell kompetens). This means we assess your overall competence, including work experience, involvement in associations or organizations, and other experiences you have gained throughout your life.
We use assessment guidelines developed by the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR), as well as an admissions handbook produced by the Swedish National Agency for Higher Vocational Education. Using these resources, we are able to assess most types of qualifications, such as leaving certificates, interim grades, final grades, folk high school qualifications, and municipal adult education (Komvux) certificates.
Similarly, we review and assess your international upper secondary school qualifications to determine whether they meet the general and specific entry requirements for the program. If you have a translation or validation from UHR, please include it with your application.
Yes, you are eligible to apply for student financial aid from CSN for our part-time YH-courses (50% study pace). Studying a tuition-free course that is eligible for CSN funding is a fantastic opportunity for personal and professional development.
It also means that competition for places is high, but in turn, you will be part of a learning environment with other motivated, experienced, and curious participants.
Hyper Island is not involved in your CSN application process. To find out whether you are eligible for CSN and how to apply, please visit the CSN website.
