Manchester, New York City, São Paulo, Singapore, Stockholm – and Karlshamn.
In August 2024, the Hyper Island School will move into Campus Karlshamn with two vocational programs.

After nearly 30 years in Karlskrona, Hyper Island is relocating one of the Swedish campuses to the city of Karlshamn. The opportunity to contribute to the creation of a new innovation hub at Campus Karlshamn and the well-thought-out environment for media and digitalization education attracted the educational company.

"We are delighted to maintain our presence in the South of Sweden and to continue developing innovative educational formats. Here, we have the opportunity to create a great hybrid campus, where we and our students can meet both in person and virtually," says Jörg Teichgraeber, Head of School at Hyper Island.

Campus Karlshamn is owned and operated by Karlshamn Municipality. The facilities at the Eastern pier offer post-secondary education in collaboration with colleges, universities, and vocational colleges.

"We are incredibly pleased that Hyper Island chooses to invest in the future together with Campus Karlshamn. This partnership also marks the beginning of a growing and dynamic campus that will be of great benefit to the entire region," says Magnus Gärdebring, chairman of the municipal council.

In Sweden, Hyper Island School conducts education within the framework of vocational colleges and was one of the first providers within this form of education.

Initially, Hyper Island will offer two longer vocational programs at Campus Karlshamn; Motion Designer and Business Developer. Meetings for short courses in UX Design, Business Development, and Sustainability Change Leadership will also be organized in Karlshamn in the future. Vocational programs combine theory with practice and are conducted in close collaboration with the industry.

"We highly value collaboration with the business community, and through the partnership with Campus Karlshamn, we will be able to strengthen our collaboration with the business community throughout the Blekinge region," says Jörg Teichgraeber.

One of the companies in Blekinge with which Hyper Island already has close collaboration is the Cimon Group, which, along with several other tech companies, has its headquarters at NetPort Science Park in Karlshamn.

"Hyper Island is one of the leading educational companies in the tech field in Europe, and their move to NetPort Science Park and Campus Karlshamn is very positive. Partly for the development of the campus, partly because we have a significant need for recruitment in the areas that Hyper Island educates in," says Peter Mattisson, CEO of Cimon.

Students starting their education at Campus Karlshamn will have guaranteed housing from Karlshamnsfastigheter. Hyper Island will retain its premises in Karlskrona until 2025, and the move to Karlshamn will be gradual.
