About the course
What you will learn
An introduction to the field of Behavioural Design and the benefits of integrating the principles and practices into your projects.
Discover common Unconscious Biases that drive behaviour in both you, as well as your customers and colleagues. You’ll be introduced to why we have biases, 3 of the most influential ones and have a chance to reflect on biases that you might have experienced.
Working on your own case, you will define the behaviour you want to influence or change within your organization or with your customers. You will work on this case for the rest of the course.
In this module you’ll assess the influences on your desired behaviour. It includes consideration of individual, social and environmental factors that may either impede or facilitate behaviour.
In this penultimate module, you’ll spend time using ideation techniques to design interventions that activate or influence the desired behaviour you identified from module 3. You’ll use behavioural theories, biases and effects to generate these ideas.
We know stories sell ideas, dreams and visions; but what more can we do to connect with our audience? In this module we’ll introduce you to the cognitive biases that have an impact on selling and buying and help you create successful, creative and impactful stories.
Learning Outcomes
- Understanding Behavioural Principles: Becoming familiar with the underpinning concepts of Behavioural Design. From diagnosing to developing interventions that drive real behavioural change and from connecting with ethical considerations to learning how to test behavioural change interventions.
- Application of Behavioural Design Tools and Models: Behavioural Design is about influencing behaviour and for that there are many tools and methods that can be used and applied. The process is typically the same (with some variations when the focus of the design is on nudging) and it requires practice.
- Ethical Considerations of Applying Behavioural Design: Learn to develop an awareness of the ethical implications associated with influencing human behavior. Make sure design is “ecological”: Good for self, good for others, good for the community, and good for the world.
You’ll receive a Professional Certificate via the Accredible platform within 1-2 weeks after completing the course.
Certificates are configured for uploading and sharing on LinkedIn or downloading as PDF.

WHAT THEY SAY
“It was very hands on, with many tools you can immediately start applying in your workplace. I valued the opportunity to discuss day-to-day situations with the community. Having had the time to work with the learnings for a few months after I finished the course, both the learnings and tools are enabling better teamwork for our team.”
Anne Verdaasdonk

"I found the course to be highly experiential. I enjoyed the design of the journey, which was emotional and built on deep connections. It exceeded my expectations in every way, particularly as I didn’t know much about Hyper Island prior to joining. My experience helped to ‘validate’ the course/product for me and I was positively surprised."
Domenico Dargenio

"Before taking the course I had been interested in the subject and studied bits and pieces here and there, so it was luxurious to be able to just enjoy the ride and suck in all the information. Most of what I learned I use at work daily. The course was an awesome experience for me."
Nina Enroth
Account Director and Change Consultant at Ellun Kanat
"Each chapter of the course was crafted in a very purposeful way. Going into this with a growth mindset was key because it allowed me to be totally open to new ideas and approaches. Regardless of how much experience another course member had, there seemed to always be something to learn from each other."
